Baseball Classes
The classes below are the 2027 competition levels used throughout OHSBL rules, roster administration and tournament play.
Class I
Entry-level OHSBL class with class-specific playing and coaching provisions.
Class HH
One of the younger competitive classes, including specific participation and baserunning rules.
Class H
Competitive class using standard lead-off and stealing provisions.
Class G
Competitive class with OHSBL minimum-playing-time provisions and tournament advancement.
Class F
Older youth class with expanded roster and substitution flexibility.
Class E
Ages 15–18 for the 2027 season, combining the former upper-age structure into one class.
League & Division Structure
An OHSBL league must have at least six teams to form a class. A division also requires at least six teams, and each qualifying division earns a No. 1 tournament seed.
Teams are administered through their local charter, with approved games counting toward tournament seeding under OHSBL rules.
Age & Participation
A player may play up one year without special approval. Playing more than one year above age requires a waiver; playing down is limited to documented medical circumstances.
Players also participating on a non-OHSBL team must meet the OHSBL participation requirement, with the Ohio high-school roster exception defined in the rules.
